Pavlik is the third child in the family. The first son died of SMA before he was three years old. The second son is healthy. Pavlyk's diagnosis was confirmed when he was one year old, although symptoms were already visible at five months. The screening and diagnosis confirmation lasted far too long due to Covid-19 and the lack of specialists in the region.
