Victoria was growing without any problems until she reached eight months. At that time, we have noticed that the child stopped lifting her legs. We consulted with specialists and received advice to undergo genetic analysis at a clinic in San Francisco. While we were waiting for the results, Victoria stopped sitting up and holding her head. In February, we received a positive SMA result. As there is no treatment for children with this diagnosis in Ukraine, Victoria and her mother had to go to Italy for rehabilitation to stop the disease progression for a little while.
